Daily Grooves for Bass was originally self-published by Patrick Pfeiffer under the name Pfeiffer's Daily Grooves. It was released as a BassBooks.com exclusive back in July 2008 and got real popular, real quick. Earlier this year, Carl Fischer picked up the rights, have shined her up a bit, made some updates and just released under her new name:
Daily Grooves For Bass by Patrick Pfeiffer.
For those of you not familiar with Patrick by name, he's the Bassist/Author/Musician behind the Bass Guitar For Dummies and Improve Your Groove titles, one heck of a Bass Player, and a dear friend of everyone here.

CUBAN TIMBA: A CONTEMPORARY BASS TECHNIQUE is a new and innovative book on Cuban Timba Bass Stylings. All Bass lines are written and recorded in Havana, Cuba by the master of Timba bass, Feliciano Arango. The book consists of note-by-note transcriptions and explanations of key concepts of the accompanying CD’s. This book will allow bassists to develop the Timba style using a practical and comprehensive approach “direct from the source”.

ABOUT THE STYLE
TIMBA is the sound of Cuba now, a rhythmically dense, relentlessly energetic music played by highly skilled musicians for a demanding dance-floor audience, with lyrics that draw from and become part of the language of the streets.
This book is intended for bassists and educators interested in exploring the rhythmic language of “Timba”. Timba uses the instrumentation and arrangements styles that were developed in Salsa Bands. However, Timba’s core rhythms are more complex and evolve past the “Son” style that has been popularized by “Buena Vista Social Club” and more traditional Cuban groups.
There is a worldwide movement of “timberos” and “casineros” who hold festivals and dance congresses in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, and Japan, as well as South America and the United States. This revolutionary new rhythmic language fuses Yoruba, Afro-Cuban, funk, and jazz musical styles in a distinctively Cuban way, and is now available to all bassists worldwide.
