Levels 1-4 concentrates on simpler rhythms. Includes rhythm exercises with voice answer allowing you to do this rhythm ear training anywhere along with rhythm exercises requiring a written answer on music staff paper. Level 1 is recommended starting place for beginners but if you also want to apply these rhythms using the direct application recommendations found in the Rhythm Ear Training book, this bundle is useful for all musicians.

Concentrates on the following rhythms:

  • Level 1: Half, Dotted Half, Quarter Note Rhythms in 4/4.
  • Level 2: Dotted Quarter, Quarter and Eighth Rhythms in 2/4.
  • Level 3: Dotted Quarter, Quarter, Eighth and Triplet Rhythms in 2/4.
  • Level 4: Sixteenth, Dotted Quarter, Eighth Note Rhythms in 2/4.

Rhythm is the backbone of music the world over, but unless you are studying percussion, it can be one of the most neglected areas of music education.
That's why Muse-Eek has created the Rhythm Ear Training Series. And like many of our educational products, this series is a lifelong companion, one that will keep you learning and growing the more you use it.

Oddly enough, people are frequently unaware that they have rhythm problems. Unless another musician or a teacher tells them, it's unlikely they will ever know. So ask yourself these questions:

  • Does my rhythm get unreliable when playing solos, chords or trying to lock into a groove with other musicians?
  • Do I have a tendency to speed up or slow down when I play or read music?
  • Do I lack rhythmic diversity when I’m soloing or writing music?
  • When I’m transcribing music do I find it hard to figure out rhythms?
  • If someone shows me a rhythm do I have a hard time duplicating it?
  • When composing, is it hard for me to translate the rhythms I hear in my head into rhythmic notation?
  • Do I have a hard time getting a musical flow happening when I’m playing or improvising?
  • Am I in the dark about what rhythm level is being played when I’m listening to or playing music?
  • When I have to read music are many of the mistakes I make related to rhythm?
  • Do other musicians get chosen instead of me, to play the dance gigs?

Any and all of these problems can be symptoms of poor rhythmic skills. These can cause you not to perform well, get lost when playing music and not be connected in a meaningful way to the music you are listening to or playing.

By working with the Rhythm Ear Training Series you will develop the following strengths:

  • The ability to recognize rhythms when you hear them or see them written on a page.
  • A more consistent groove as you play music.
  • An understanding of how music is put together rhythmically.
  • Enhanced speed and accuracy in your playing.
  • A much more robust vocabulary of rhythms that you naturally play when you are performing music.
  • More meaningful interactions with other musicians.
  • Ability to learn new music faster.
  • Rhythmic accuracy that will have people connecting with you physically when you play; in other words, they'll be dancing!

A FANATIC'S GUIDE TO EAR TRAINING AND SIGHT SINGING - EBOOK/PDF VERSION
This best selling book differs from the myriad of other sight singing books in that it develops the ability to identify and name all twelve pitches within a key center. Through this method a student gains the ability to identify sound based on it's relationship to a key and not the relationship of one note to another i.e. interval training as commonly taught in many texts. All note groupings from one to six notes are presented giving the student a thesaurus of basic note combinations which develops sight singing and note recognition to a level unattainable before this Guide's existence. This ebook is a must own for anyone serious about developing their ability to improvise and compose.

Written in standard notation (no TAB). 108 pages.

KEY NOTE RECOGNITION - EBOOK/PDF VERSION
To play 'by ear' a musician must first sense the key a chord or chord progression is in. You must also be able to sense key modulations in order to follow chord progressions that change key. The exercise found in this book is crucial to developing these skills.

Imagine being able to know the key of what you are hearing by just playing one note on your instrument. Think about the power this gives you to follow unfamiliar chord changes and get a quick sense of where keys are changing. This is the first step in developing the ability to follow complicated chord changes or to make informed scale choices when playing over a chord progression.

More importantly, developing the skills found in this book allows you to organize and remember sound based on how you hear it, not on how you consciously think about it. It will move you away from remembering sound based on non-musical distinctions such as instrument fingerings, and toward remembering and organizing sound based on how you hear it. Ultimately, this brings you closer to a deeper understanding of music and you will be able to store and retrieve music in your mind from a much more musical place. Written in standard notation (no TAB). 36 pages.
