MASTERING THE BASS
Comprehensive study on the artistry of being a bassist.
To become a master requires a total devotion to learning that craft. A master is someone who has strong, consistent skills and executes them perfectly with only the effort required to do so. This mastery requires experience and practice. When the question is asked, 'how much should I practice?' the correct answer is, 'until you have mastered what you're working on.' This book is designed to give the student a thorough, gradual study of obtainable musical goals including a strong rhythmic foundation upon which bass playing must be built. That is the reason for the great number of short repeated grooves and vamps as well as a myriad of open string and first position studies. The intention is not to limit the player to the low positions but to insure the mastery of the bass register as well as all other registers of the instrument and introduce a wide range of musical examples. Some music requires an entire lifetime of practice. Being a Master does not mean that the Master need not practice anymore. One should always try to improve and learn new music. This is the example true Masters set for others to follow. When a musical example, (simple or difficult), is mastered by a student, there is a tremendous sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. With each mastered piece comes more fulfillment. Good luck, work hard and have fun mastering the bass !

CLASSIC GEMS FOR ELECTRIC BASS
Includes seven solos and one duet!
Did you ever wonder where all those great sounding arpeggio runs and bass lines came from? They come from the easily playable material of great composers such as Carcassi, Bach, and Carulli. As the electric bass has become an immensely exciting and popular instrument, its standards for technical excellence have also risen. What we find lacking is a thoughtful, graded approach to learning solos for electric bass. Each of the timeless classics presented here is playable by the beginner to early-intermediate bassist. All are presented in both 'standard' and TAB form. Of greatest importance is that this book exceeds its intended goal - to enable each student to experience the emotional and musical joy of playing not just one, but many pieces of music from start to finish. Each of these Classic Gems is suitable for solo performance by today's modern bass guitarist. 20 pages. Written in standard notation and TAB.

BASS CHORD LESSONS - 2 DVDS
Bass Chord Lessons, by Robert Allen Lemas, will teach you how to play chords much like a guitar or piano player would play chords. By learning how to play chords in this style you will be able to hear songs in a more complete way than by just playing through the arpeggios of a song. Learning how to play chords can also be a valuable tool in small group settings. As an example if you are playing in a trio with a guitar player you could add some chords to fill up the sound. There are many possibilities.
