MY FIRST SIMANDL: FOR THE DEVELOPING DOUBLE-BASS STUDENT
My First Simandl preserves the original intent and musical/educational objectives that Franz Simandl set forth in his etude books New Method for the Double Bass, Vol. 1 and Thirty Etudes for the String Bass. Many of the exercises are exactly as they are in the original books. However, there are areas where the studies started at a level of difficulty, which made it unrealistic for use by young players. Consequently, some of the etudes in My First Simandl have been shortened in length or have had note values doubled. The studies have been arranged in progressive order, taking into account tonality, grade of difficulty and style. Rosen and Eckfeld have chosen studies that are considered to be the most important for student at the earlier stages of technical development. Included are duet exercises for the student and teacher – a proven approach to better learning! Our Price: US$6.95

JEAN-SEBASTIEN BACH SUITES IV & V - VOLUME 2
Originally, these now world-famous Suites were composed for cello. There is no known autograph of the pieces in Bach’s own hand, but two manuscript copies – one from the 1730s, by Anna Magdalena, Bach’s second wife, the other by Johann Peter Kellner, a Thuringen organist and a pupil of Bach’s are considered authoritative. Anna Magdalena’s hand is so similar to her husband’s that some musicologists actually think she wrote the title-page only, in which case that manuscript would be the original version of the Suites as for the second manuscript, dated 1726, it is less widely known and differs much from the former. 20 pages. Written in Standard Notation. NO TAB. Our Price: US$29.45

SIGHT READING FUNK RHYTHMS FOR ELECTRIC BASS
This material is really stuff that I had written over time for me to practice my sight reading. I was trying to write material that would present myself with all conceivable combinations of 16th note rhythms. The problem with just writing exercises is that you quickly memorize the rhythms. To avoid this, I wrote the examples in a song like form. By this I mean there are obvious verse and chorus like sections. Just the way real songs are. The other thing I did was to put in just enough variation that you cannot memorize any of the examples. You will be hard pressed to find four measures that are the same. The book is not just complicated for the sake of being hard. The basslines all make sense. They sound like difficult R&B or Fusion style basslines. Music is written in standard notation only - no tab. Our Price: US$14.00

ARPEGGIO WOODSHEDDING - EBOOK/PDF VERSION
A comprehensive study covering the 60 most important arpeggios encountered in modern music
Grab yourself a can opener and a supply of canned goods and bottled water - it's time to lock yourself in that proverbial woodshed and set yourself down to working through the most intensive study of arpeggios you'll ever encounter. Arpeggio Woodshedding takes you through arpeggio studies of the five most important seventh chords through all twelve keys, covering a good 90% of the seventh chords you'll ever encounter in a chord chart. Each of the sixty chords are presented in both sixteenth-note and eighth-note exercises, combining for 180 exercises, covering every inch of the fretboard.

Whether you're looking to master your jazz chord charts or bust out with some mind-blowing solos over heavy metal power chords, this new book by Mike Cornelison has everything the practicing bassist needs to develop a perfect balance of harmonic wisdom and fingerboard firepower. ODD TIME SIGHTREADING FOR BASS
As stated by Anthony Vitti on his newest title:
The concept for this book was very easy to come up with. The fact is that there just is not a lot of material out there for bass players to read in odd meters. A problem I think most players face, is the fact that you don't see certain meters very often. But, then you find yourself playing a show or recording a song and you are expected to be comfortable reading and playing in 7/8, 9/8, 5/4 or any number of odd meters. We spend most of our time playing in 4/4. Meters like 3/4, 6/8 & 12/8 are fairly common, but you still may not find yourself as comfortable feeling these times as you do 4/4.

The point of this book is to get you comfortable reading and feeling a variety of different time signatures. I have written the bass lines so that they are consistent, but have enough variation to keep you from memorizing lines. There are a variety of tempos and feels. You will see how I develop each line throughout an example. I will increase the rhythmic depth and many times, the technical difficulty in playing the line. If you read through these examples many times, I think you will start to feel a lot more comfortable about playing in odd meters. I am also providing drum grooves at two tempos that you can download. This way you will hear the feel I had in mind when writing the bass lines. 45 pages. Written in standard notation only (no TAB).
