Phil is the man!
(3/10/2007)

I had the pleasure of working with Phil Boniface a few years back on a cruise ship in the western Caribbean and he is not only a first-rate bassist by anyone's standards but also a consummate professional. Any advice he has to give on playing bass should be paid attention to.

I'm a beginner bass player. This book has helped me develop the skills and confidence to play in a band in a short amount time. The exercises are excellent, easy to learn and I use them often in bass riffs. I can't wait to read Volume 2.
This is a must for all bass players!!!

Being an experienced bass player, this book greatly helped me clean up my techniques and review things that I haven't touched in a while. Beginners and experienced bass players alike will benefit from this great bass resource.
IT'S THE BEST!

What a great book! I was a pretty new bass player when I picked up this book and I found it answered a lot of my questions and led me in the right direction. I really liked the way it was laid out and found it fun, yet instructive. A great cd with it, too. Very user-friendly. It got me where I wanted to go, smoothly, and I could kind of feel the enthusiasm of the writer, could tell that he loved the instrument. Anyway, really worked for me, better than any other books I’ve tried – and that’s been a bunch! Really great, I’d highly recommend it, it’s the one to start with.

I like the way it gradually introduces of different concepts, immediately followed by basic exercises that incorporate them.
If you're just starting out on the bass, I would highly recommend this book.
