This ebook is a continuation of the course presented in Single String Studies Volume One and will continue to lay a foundation for truly virtuosic technique and performance. The exercises in this volume take this technique to a new level by introducing intervallic single string lines based on pitch class sets 013, 015, 016, 026 and 027. These intervallic melodic lines can help a player begin to hear these advanced lines while picking up some great ideas for soloing and composing along the way. If you are serious about your instrument, learning how to read, developing new ideas and developing a total mastery of the fretboard, you've come to the right place. This ebook can work in tandem with audio examples that can be downloaded from Muse-eek.com, which will greatly aid in the absorption of information and the building of skill. Exercises for each string are presented in all keys. The ebook culminates in a final section which integrates playing on all four strings. This ebook is a required text at New York University and Princeton University Music Department. Written in standard notation (no TAB). 65 pages.
This ebook is a high-potency method targeted at any bass guitarist who is seeking to become a professional musician and wishes to practice the techniques used by world-class players. It is recommended you work through Volume One in this series before attempting Volume Two. The benefits of this method are: - You will learn the location of every note on every string.
- You will learn to feel where the notes are on the neck without looking.
- You will learn to read music on the bass guitar.
- You will learn to quickly and easily read ledger line notes.
This unique method works on all four of the above disciplines at once. Each exercise concentrates the student's attention on one string at a time. This allows a familiarity to form between the written pitch and where it can be found on the bass guitar, in addition to improving one's "feel" for jumping linearly across the bass guitar neck. Along the way you learn how to read music and acquire a formidable control over the instrument. This book also includes MIDI files. These files allow the student to hear each exercise thus informing them when they are playing the correct note.
Muse Eek Publishing Company also hosts an on-line resource in conjunction with this book. There is a free "member's section" where book owners can download other files specific to this book and many other help files to further their music education. Unlike traditional situations where the reader is left on their own after purchase of a text, Muse-Eek Publishing seeks to keep the reader/student engaged and interactive with the author. With each book you are beginning a relationship in which help and direction are always available to make sure you are learning correctly.
This ebook is a required text for beginning bass guitarists at New York University and Princeton University.
