The Best! (11/20/2009)
Ed has created a great video that shows examples of specific techniques to achieve the funk riffs heard on countless tunes. He explains how to make these riffs in detail and plays them at a slow tempo and at double time. This is a great video to learn the basics of slap and pop. He makes it so easy that even mom can learn, but he never really says if he actually taught his mom! He uses a very bright Carvin bass for the video but jams on a very nice Fender 75 for the closing jam! Very well produced video! Thanks Ed!

Impressive! (3/30/2006)
Well organized, good sound, thorough, and inspiring! I have been playing electric bass for 25 years and this DVD helped me immensely. I think even beginners would find it very approachable as well. Ed Friedland covers just about any question you could have about the style, breaks things down superbly, and has the requisite amount of charisma to keep you interested. Yeah!

Awesome (1/10/2006)
Had been trying to get going with slap for years. This DVD was just what I was looking for, a systematic approach to learning slap.

Excellent DVD - Friedland is a great player and instructor + is a little funny. His funk lines are pretty slammin' as well. Just this Combo will keep you busy for some time.

Outstanding (4/24/2005)
I took lessons for almost a year. This book taught me slap techniques that my teacher never even mentioned. If your having trouble with slap this is the book to get.

Great DVD (3/21/2005)
This is a great dvd. I usually play music like KoRn. And all Fieldy does is slap bass. Fieldy does easy slap but this type of style is much more complicated but it is much better.

Slap Bass (1/19/2005)
I found this to be very useful. Starts with the basics and quickly moves to some advanced stuff (double stops, etc). Good pace, good accompanying documentation, and good material. An excellent bargin.

Makes Slapping Easy (7/10/2003)
This book really helped me to learn to slap and use slapping in bass playing. A great DVD for building technique and slap/pop ability and learning to practice that ability correctly in order to build proficient skill. Ed Friedland really introduces a Beginner into the world of slapping, or teaches an intermediate or advanced bass play to master their slap bass technique. It's also great for learning to create your own slap bass lines and use them in original music.
